The Second Structural Engineering Convention will be held at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT Bombay) during 5 - 8 January 2000.

The Convention will be a common platform for more than 400 international delegates from universities, research institutions and the industry to discuss and exchange their experiences and expertise. SEC-2000 combines a Convention programme of plenary sessions, keynote addresses, technical papers and poster presentations, a technical exhibition, site visits and social events. Together they will provide an international forum of specialists to encourage the exchange of scientific and technical information and to foster links and closer collaboration within the engineering community.

The SEC-2000 exhibition is an integral and valuable part of the Convention. For the delegates and speakers it is an attraction in its own right as a collective shop window for the instruments, products, equipment and consumables that they require in the course of their work.

IIT lawn, houses the exhibition which is adjacent to Lecture Hall and is the natural meeting point for all Convention participants.

The Exhibition Stalls will be ready for occupation on Wednesday 5 January 2000 by about 2:00 PM. All the exhibitors shall get their Stalls readied by that evening in preparation for the Opening Reception scheduled to be held on the IIT Lawn the next morning.

The exhibition will be open to Convention delegates and visitors from 9:30 AM to 6.00 PM on Thursday 6 to Saturday 8 January 2000

The exhibition will also be open till approximately 1:00 PM the following afternoon, on Sunday 9 January 2000.

All Stalls and exhibition material must be available for display and presentation till then and cleared from the IIT Lawn only after that and before 6.00 PM that evening.

The Poster Presentation shall also adhere to the exhibition schedule.

Exhibition Package Back to Contents .

The exhibition organisers are offering following complete package at the tariff of INR 4000 per square metres for the Exhibitors from India and SAARC Countries while for Exhibitors from elsewhere it shall be US $200 per square metre.

This package includes:

Space rental, Floor covering, Stall Module, A sign with company name, An entry in the exhibition guide, Exhibitor name badges, Three spotlights, One 15 amp power point, Two chairs, One round table and One lockable information counter.

The Stalls shall be in modules of about 2.50m x 2.50m (Type A = 6.25 m²) and 3.0m x 2.5m (Type B = 7.5 m²). Two or more adjacent Stalls can be combined in order to provide exhibitors with a larger display area if required.

The charges for these Stalls shall be: Module Type A = 6.25 m² = INR 25,000/- or US$ 1250/- and for Module Type B = 7.5 m² = INR 30,000/- or US$ 1500/-

Based on requirements expressed by exhibitors, arrangements for multimedia presentation could be made at extra charges per slot booking. The tariff for this will be intimated to exhibitors seperately.

Official Customs Clearance Agent Back to Contents .

Official agent for Customs Clearance is being appointed. He will assist foreign exhibitors in packing shipping, custom clearance, transportation to the venue, repacking and shipping back. The organisers of the exhibition will not be responsible for either the service, their charges or the payment. Interested exhibitors may send for more information from Secretariat, SEC-2000.

If you wish to discuss your Stall Choices, please Contact Secretariat, SEC-2000.

• Having made your Stall choices please download the appropriate registration form (WORD 6.0 or later version), fill and send by E-mail to Secretariat, SEC-2000. Take two printouts, keeping one as your record copy, send the signed original along with the payment to Secretariat, SEC-2000.

• You may also make booking online. However sending the signed original form and the payment is necessary. To expedite stall booking confirmation, the same may also be faxed to Secretariat, SEC-2000.

• Your exhibition booking will be acknowledged and you will be issued with an appropriate receipt for your 30% advance payment.

• All exhibitors will complete their payments as per the following schedule:

  1. 30% of charges on booking

  2. Next 40% (cumulative 70%) by 15 December 1999

  3. Further 30% (cumulative 100%) by 5 January 2000 and

  In addition, 10% refundable deposit by 5 January 2000 towards recovery of damages if any and non compliance of rules etc.

• Prior to the exhibition you will receive letter giving you full details of the Convention programme, timetables, social functions, special events etc. and any formalities that need to be completed.

• Upon arrival at IIT Bombay, exhibition staff must register at the exhibition desk where they will be given their name badges and shown to during the build-up period to handle any enquiries their exhibition Stall. The Stall contractor will be available regarding the Stall Modules, furniture and lighting.

• Exhibition desk will be available throughout the exhibition to assist you with any queries you may have.
